After the announcement a few days ago that The Witcher: Monster Slayer is finally coming to Android, it was only a matter of time before the first playable version of it appeared on the web.
Unfortunately, like other games before it, the game has only been unlocked in New Zealand for now. Unlike Niantic did with Harry Potter: Wizards Unite and Catan: World Explorers, the game does not have a geo-lock. This means that if you have installed the game, you can play it no matter where you are.
There is no classic APK file to install yet, but thanks to some diligent Russian players there is already a workaround to install the game on Android. In the package that you can download here is an APK file and a folder. We have a step by step explanation for you on how to get the game running on Android.

Step 1: Download

Step 2: Unpack the File
Unzip the file using the app „WinRar“ or a similar app on your phone. Now you should be able to see an APK file and a folder. It is best to use the file browser of your phone for this. Mostly this is called „Files“ or „My Documents“.
Step 3: Install
Now click on the .APK file and click Install. It is possible that the phone will give you a warning. If this is the case, you have to go to the settings and allow the installation of APK files. Usually there is a hint in the warning message where this option is, or it will take you directly to the settings where you can enable this option. After that, you should be able to install the file without any problems.
Step 4: Copy folder
Before you can start the game you have to move the folder that was also included. Go to the folder and select „Move“ or „Copy“. Now go to „Internal Storage“ -> „Android“ -> „obb“ and select „Paste“. Now the folder is in the directory and you can start the game.
